What makes gin Scottish?

Find out at the Summer Gin Party on the terrace at One Square at the Sheraton, Edinburgh on Friday 12 July.

Bite magazine and One Square, the bar at the Sheraton hotel, are putting on a gem of a gin event. There will be serves of  One Square Gin, Garden Shed Gin, Old Curiosity Gin, Cushiedoos tonic, as well as flavoured popcorn and gin-spired flavoured ice cream to kick off the weekend.

* One Square – Batch 5 One Square Gin Perfect Serve made by Pickering’s Gin Distillery in Edinburgh.
* Garden Shed Gin – a gin inspired by botanicals found on the doorstep, from wild blackberries at the bottom of the garden to dandelions.  Glasgow based, the company donates a portion of its profits to environmental charities to save bees and plant trees.
* Old Curiosity Gin – Nasturtium and Snapdragon Limited Edition Gin from this Edinburgh distillery based at the Secret Herb Garden
* Cushiedoos –  With no quinine, this tonic uses heather, silver birch, yellow gentian, wormwood and British sugar beet, together with water from ancient artesian springs high in the Cairngorms.

With four Scottish products in the line-up Fiona Laing author of The Gin Clan will look at what actually makes a gin Scottish. And there will be signed copies of the book to buy (at a special price).
